1. Open the trunk.
* On the inside surface of the trunk lid on the driver's side, you'll see a panel next to the light housing.
* Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off this panel.
2. Remove the old bulb.
* Once the panel is removed, you'll see the tail light housing.
* Give the socket a quarter turn counterclockwise and pull it straight out.
* Grab the bulb and rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from its socket.
3. Install the new bulb.
* Insert the new bulb into the socket by aligning the pins on the bulb with the holes in the socket and twisting the bulb clockwise.
* Push the socket back into the tail light housing and twist it clockwise until it clicks into place.
4. Replace the panel.
* Snap the panel back into place on the inside surface of the trunk lid.
Now you have successfully changed the tail light bulb in your 1997 Toyota Celica GT.
