To adjust the headlights on a 1997 Honda Civic EX, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver and a flat head screwdriver. Follow these steps:

Open the hood of the car.

Locate the headlight adjustment screws on the back of the headlight assemblies. There will be two screws, one for the vertical adjustment and one for the horizontal adjustment.

Turn the vertical adjustment screw clockwise to raise the headlight beam, and turn it counterclockwise to lower the beam.

Turn the horizontal adjustment screw clockwise to move the headlight beam to the right, and turn it counterclockwise to move the beam to the left.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other headlight assembly.

Close the hood of the car.
