- Jack
- Jack stands
- Wheel chocks
- Lug wrench
- Ratchet and socket set (metric and standard)
- Flat head screwdriver
- Hammer
Instructions
1. Park your Cadillac on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Chock the rear wheels to prevent the car from rolling.
3. Jack up the front of the car until the tire being replaced is off the ground.
4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the tire.
5. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the dust cap on the center of the rotor.
6. Remove the cotter pin from the castle nut on the spindle.
7. Use a ratchet and socket to loosen the castle nut.
8. Remove the castle nut and washer from the spindle.
9. Use a hammer to gently tap the rotor off of the spindle.
10. Clean the mating surfaces of the rotor and the hub with a wire brush.
11. Install the new rotor by tapping it onto the spindle.
12. Replace the washer and castle nut, and tighten the castle nut until it is snug.
13. Insert a new cotter pin into the hole in the castle nut.
14. Replace the dust cap on the center of the rotor.
15. Put the tire back on and tighten the lug nuts.
16. Lower the car and remove the jack stands.
