- A new brake light bulb (preferably the same type as the one you are replacing)
- A Phillips-head screwdriver
- A putty knife or other thin object
Step 1: Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
Step 2: Open the trunk of your car.
Step 3: Locate the brake light assembly. It is located on either side of the trunk, inside the trunk lid.
Step 4: Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the brake light assembly in place. There will typically be two screws on each side.
Step 5: Once the screws are removed, carefully pry the brake light assembly away from the trunk lid using the putty knife or other thin object. Be careful not to break the plastic tabs that hold the assembly in place.
Step 6: Remove the old brake light bulb from the assembly by turning it counterclockwise.
Step 7: Insert the new brake light bulb into the assembly by turning it clockwise until it is secure.
Step 8: Reattach the brake light assembly to the trunk lid by aligning the mounting holes and replacing the screws.
Step 9: Test the new brake light bulb to make sure it is working properly.
Step 10: Close the trunk and you're done!
