Materials needed:
- Replacement side marker light bulbs
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver (optional)
Instructions:
1. Park your car in a safe and level location. Make sure the engine is turned off and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate the side marker light assembly that you need to replace. The side marker lights on a 2002 Lexus IS 300 are located on the front and rear fenders of the car.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the cover of the side marker light assembly off. Be careful not to damage the paint on your car.
4. Once the cover is removed, you will see the side marker light bulb. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and remove the bulb from the socket.
5. Place the new side marker light bulb into the socket and tighten it securely with the Phillips head screwdriver. Be careful not to overtighten the bulb.
6. Replace the cover of the side marker light assembly and press it firmly into place.
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for the other side marker light, if necessary.
Tips:
- If you are replacing all four side marker light bulbs, it is a good idea to replace them with LED bulbs. LED bulbs are more durable and efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs.
- If you have difficulty removing the cover of the side marker light assembly, you can use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. Be careful not to damage the paint on your car.
