Tools and Materials Needed:
- New passenger side window
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- 10mm socket wrench
- 13mm socket wrench
- Putty knife
- Glass cleaner
- Tape
- Adhesive cleaner
- Silicone sealant
- Masking tape
Instructions:
1. Remove the Door Panel:
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the plastic cover near the door handle.
- Remove the two Phillips-head screws behind the cover.
- Gently pry the door panel from the door, starting from the bottom.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors for the power window and lock switch.
- Remove the door panel and set it aside.
2. Remove the Old Window:
- Use the 13mm socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the window regulator assembly to the door.
- Remove the regulator assembly and set it aside.
- Use the putty knife to carefully remove any remaining adhesive or caulk around the old window.
- Clean the area thoroughly with glass cleaner.
3. Measure and Cut:
- With the old glass window removed, measure the size of the opening using tape.
- Transfer these measurements to the new passenger side window.
- Carefully cut the new glass window to size.
4. Install the New Glass:
- Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant around the edges of the new window.
- Carefully place the new glass into the opening.
- Use masking tape to secure the window in place.
5. Reattach the Window Regulator:
- Reattach the window regulator assembly to the door, securing it with the 13mm socket wrench.
6. Reattach the Door Panel:
- Reconnect the electrical connectors for the power window and lock switch.
- Carefully clip the door panel back into place, ensuring that all clips are secure.
- Replace the plastic cover near the door handle and the Phillips-head screws.
7. Clean the Glass:
- Clean both sides of the new window with glass cleaner to remove any fingerprints or smudges.
- Allow the silicone sealant to dry completely.
8. Test the Window:
- Once the sealant has dried, test the power window to ensure that it opens and closes smoothly.
