1. Make sure the motorcycle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
2. Locate the oil dipstick. It is a metal rod with a yellow knob that is located on the left side of the engine, near the front.
3. Remove the dipstick by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out.
4. Wipe the dipstick clean with a clean cloth.
5. Insert the dipstick back into the oil fill hole and turn it clockwise until it is snug.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level. The oil should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the oil level is low, add the necessary amount of oil.
8. Replace the dipstick and turn it clockwise until it is snug.
