1. Remove the valve cover.
2. Remove the spark plug.
3. Turn the crankshaft until the piston is at top dead center (TDC).
4. Loosen the cam chain tensioner bolt.
5. Adjust the cam chain tension by turning the tensioner screw until the chain has a slight slack.
6. Tighten the cam chain tensioner bolt.
7. Replace the spark plug.
8. Replace the valve cover.
