- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Allen wrench
- Razor blade
- Windex
- New handgrips (with throttle tube and clutch tube inserted)
Step 1: Remove the old handgrips
- Unscrew any weight on the ends of the handlebars.
- Remove old bar ends if applicable
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the rubber handgrip from the throttle.
- Slide the handgrip towards the end of the throttle tube and off completely.
- Use a razor blade to cut the old grip.
- Repeat for the other grip/side
Step 2: Clean the handlebars
- Clean the handlebars and inside of the old handgrip with Windex to remove any dirt, grease, or old glue residue.
Step 3: Insert the new handgrip
- Spray a small amount of Windex inside the new handgrip.
- Slide the new handgrip onto the throttle tube.
- Reinstall any weights on the ends of the handlebars or any bar ends.
- Let the handgrips dry completely before riding.
That's it! You have successfully replaced your motorcycle handgrips.
