1. Calmly assess the situation and ensure you are safe. Try to find a way to get out of the water as quickly and safely as possible.
2. Once out of the water, turn off the ignition switch to stop the flow of fuel.
3. Try to remove as much water from the engine as possible by tilting it to the side and allowing it to drain.
4. Inspect the air filter and replace it if necessary.
5. Try starting the engine; if it does, you can try to drive it to a safe location.
