Steps to adjust the cam chain tension:
1. Remove the left side cover by undoing the Philips head screws. Remove the alternator/generator cover by removing the 10mm bolts and the rubber seal and set it aside.
2. Turn the engine until the "T" mark on the engine sprocket aligns with the stationary mark on the crankcase cover.
3. Check the cam chain tension at the upper chain guide. The correct slack should be between 10-15mm.
4. If the chain tension is too tight or too loose, adjust it by loosening the 17mm locknut and turning the adjusting screw.
5. Tighten the locknut once the correct chain tension has been achieved.
6. Replace the alternator/generator cover and left side cover.
