1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the right side cover.
3. Remove the alternator cover.
4. Remove the stator bolts and remove the stator.
5. Disconnect the stator wires from the regulator/rectifier.
6. Remove the old stator gasket and clean the stator mounting surface.
7. Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the new stator gasket and install the gasket on the stator mounting surface.
8. Connect the stator wires to the regulator/rectifier.
9. Install the stator mounting bolts and tighten them to the torque specified in the service manual.
10. Install the alternator cover.
11. Install the right side cover.
12. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
