To register a mini bike or chopper with the IDNR, you will need to provide the following information:
* The make and model of the vehicle
* The vehicle identification number (VIN)
* The year the vehicle was manufactured
* The owner's name and address
You can register a mini bike or chopper online or by mail. The registration fee is $15 for two years.
Once your mini bike or chopper is registered, you will need to display a valid ORV sticker on the vehicle. The ORV sticker must be clearly visible from both sides of the vehicle.
Mini bikes and choppers can only be operated on public land that is open to ORV use. You can find a list of public ORV areas in Illinois on the IDNR website.
Mini bikes and choppers must also be operated in accordance with all state laws. For example, you must obey the speed limit and wear a helmet when operating a mini bike or chopper.
