1. Locate the VOES: The VOES is typically mounted on the right side of the engine, near the carburetor. It is a small, cylindrical device with two electrical terminals.
2. Disconnect the battery: Before you begin wiring the VOES, disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent any electrical accidents.
3. Identify the wires: The VOES has two wires: a black wire and a white wire. The black wire is the ground wire, and the white wire is the power wire.
4. Connect the ground wire: Connect the black ground wire to a suitable grounding point on the engine. This could be a bolt or screw that is in contact with the metal frame of the bike.
5. Connect the power wire: Connect the white power wire to the ignition coil. This can be done by tapping into the wire that is connected to the positive (+) terminal of the coil.
6. Secure the wires: Make sure that the wires are securely connected and that they are not touching any other wires or components.
7. Reconnect the battery: Reconnect the negative battery cable.
8. Start the engine and test the VOES: Start the engine and let it idle. The VOES should be activated when the engine is running. You can test this by using a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the white power wire. The voltage should be around 12 volts when the engine is running.
If the VOES is not activated when the engine is running, check the following:
- Make sure that the wires are connected properly.
- Check the grounding point to make sure that it is secure.
- Check the ignition coil to make sure that it is functioning properly.
If the VOES is still not working, you may need to replace it.
