Where is the idle screw on a 06 Ford Taurus?

The 2006 Ford Taurus doesn't have an idle speed screw in the traditional sense. Modern electronic fuel injection systems, like the one in your Taurus, control idle speed electronically through the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). There's no manually adjustable screw to alter the idle.

If your Taurus is idling too high or too low, the problem lies within the electronic system, and you'll need diagnostics to determine the cause. Possible issues include:

* Faulty IAC (Idle Air Control) valve: This valve controls the amount of air entering the engine at idle.

* Problems with the throttle position sensor (TPS): This sensor tells the PCM where the throttle is positioned.

* Vacuum leaks: Leaks in the intake system can affect idle.

* PCM issues: Problems with the PCM itself can cause incorrect idle speed control.

Trying to adjust a non-existent idle screw will not fix the problem and could potentially damage the engine. Take your Taurus to a qualified mechanic or use an OBD-II scanner to diagnose the problem.
