To find out if yours has one, check these:
1. Look for the switch: If your Escape *does* have a rear wiper, you'll usually find a small switch on the left stalk of the steering column (the one you use for turn signals and windshield wipers). This switch will likely be a small lever or button near the wiper speed controls. Experiment gently moving the stalk to see if you find it.
2. Visual inspection: Look at the rear windshield itself. If there's a rear wiper motor assembly (a small, usually black, box near the base of the windshield), and a wiper arm, then you have one.
If you have the switch and the motor, operating it is simple: typically, you activate it by moving the wiper stalk to the appropriate position (it's usually a short push or pull, sometimes accompanied by a click).
If you don't see either the switch or the motor, your 2003 Ford Escape did not come equipped with a rear wiper.
