1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
2. While holding the key in the "ON" position, press the steering wheel lock release button. It's usually located near the bottom of the steering column, on the left or right side.
3. Hold the button depressed until you can freely move the steering wheel.
4. If you are unable to press and hold a steering lock release button, try wiggling the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key. This may help release the locking mechanism.
If the steering wheel lock still does not disengage, you may need to take your vehicle to a mechanic to have it inspected. There could be an issue with the ignition lock cylinder, the steering wheel lock mechanism, or another related component that requires professional attention.
