3. Remove AC system components:
* Disconnect the AC hoses from the compressor.
* Remove the serpentine belt.
* Remove the AC compressor mounting bolts and brackets.
* Carefully remove the AC compressor from the vehicle.
4. Remove the old bearing:
* Use a puller tool or a drift punch to remove the old bearing from the compressor shaft. Be careful not to damage the shaft.
5. Install the new bearing:
* Apply a small amount of grease to the new bearing.
* Carefully press the new bearing onto the compressor shaft.
* Use a mallet and a drift punch to gently tap the bearing into place until it is fully seated.
6. Reinstall the AC system components:
* Reinstall the AC compressor, mounting bolts, and brackets.
* Reconnect the AC hoses.
* Reinstall the serpentine belt.
* Reconnect the battery.
7. Recharge the AC system:
* Use an AC manifold gauge set to recharge the AC system with the recovered refrigerant or new refrigerant as per manufacturer's specifications.
8. Test the AC system:
* Start the engine and turn on the AC.
* Verify that the AC is blowing cold air and the compressor is engaging properly.
