The horn cap on your Corvette steering wheel is held in place by a screw or bolt in the center. Use a screwdriver or wrench to remove this screw or bolt, and then pull the cap off.
Step 2: Disconnect the horn wire.
There will be a single wire connected to the horn cap. Disconnect this wire.
Step 3: Remove the steering wheel nut.
The steering wheel nut is located in the center of the steering wheel. Use a wrench to loosen and remove this nut.
Step 4: Pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft.
Once the steering wheel nut is removed, you can pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft. Be careful not to drop the steering wheel.
Step 5: Install the new steering wheel.
Align the new steering wheel with the steering shaft and press it into place. Make sure that the splines on the steering shaft and the steering wheel are engaged.
Step 6: Install the steering wheel nut.
Replace the steering wheel nut and tighten it until it is snug. Do not overtighten the steering wheel nut.
Step 7: Reconnect the horn wire.
Reconnect the horn wire to the horn cap.
Step 8: Replace the steering wheel center cap.
Replace the steering wheel center cap and secure it with the screw or bolt.
Step 9: Test the steering wheel.
Turn the steering wheel left and right to make sure that it is properly installed and that the horn works.
