Here's a step-by-step process:
1. Gather your tools. You will need:
- A flat-head screwdriver
- A Phillips-head screwdriver
- A 10mm socket
- A ratchet
2. Remove the old mirror glass. Pry the old mirror glass out of the housing using the flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the housing.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector. Disconnect the electrical connector for the power mirror.
4. Remove the three bolts. Use the 10mm socket to remove the three bolts that hold the mirror housing in place.
5. Remove the mirror housing. Once the bolts are removed, you can lift the mirror housing off the door.
6. Remove the old skull cap. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the three screws that hold the skull cap in place. Be careful not to lose the screws.
7. Install the new skull cap. Place the new skull cap over the broken base of the mirror and secure it with the three screws.
8. Reinstall the mirror housing. Lift the mirror housing back onto the door and secure it with the three bolts.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector. Reconnect the electrical connector for the power mirror.
10. Test the mirror. Make sure that the mirror moves correctly and that the power mirror works.
Finally, reinstall the mirror housing and reconnect the electrical connector. This should secure the skull cap in place and restore full functionality to your mirror.
