Tools and Materials Needed:
- Philips screwdriver
- Hex key
- Flashlight
-Replacement headlight bulb
- New headlight cover (if needed)
Step 1: Open the Hood
-Locate and release the hood latch on the driver's side footwell.
-Raise the hood and secure it with the prop rod.
Step 2: Locate the Headlight Assembly.
-Identify the headlight assembly at the front of the vehicle.
-It is the transparent cover that houses the headlight bulb.
Step 3: Remove The Headlight Cover.
-If your vehicle has a separate cover for the headlight, remove it by unscrewing the screws or releasing the clips that hold it in place.
-Keep the cover safe, as you may need to reinstall it later.
Step 4: Disconnect the Electrical Connector
-Locate the electrical connector attached to the back of the headlight.
-Press the connector's locking tab and gently pull it straight out to disconnect it from the headlight.
Step 5: Loosen the Hex Screw.
-Use a Hex key to loosen the Hex screw that secures the headlight assembly to the vehicle.
Step 6: Remove the Headlight Assembly.
-Gently pull the headlight assembly forward to remove it from its mounting bracket.
-Be cautious of any wires that may be connected to the assembly.
Step 7: Replace the Headlight Bulb
-Rotate the old bulb counterclockwise and pull it out of the housing.
-Align the new bulb with its socket and gently twist it clockwise until it locks in place.
Step 8: Reinstall the Headlight Assembly
- Reinsert the headlight assembly back into its housing.
- Insert the Hex bolt to help secure the unit.
Step 9: Reconnect the Electrical Connector.
- Connect the electrical connector back to the headlight by pushing it until you feel it lock in place.
Step 10: Reinstall the Headlight Cover (If Applicable)
-Place the headlight cover back onto the assembly and secure it with the screws or clips that you removed earlier.
Step 11: Test the Headlight.
-Turn on the headlights to ensure that the new bulb is functioning correctly.
Step 12: Close the Hood.
-Carefully lower the hood and release the prop rod.
-Ensure that the hood is securely closed before using your vehicle.
