How do you reset the check engine light on a Honda Accord?

To turn off your Honda Accord check engine light, you can:

Method 1: Disconnect and Reconnect the Battery Terminal.

1. Turn off the engine and wait for it to cool down. Open the hood and locate the negative battery terminal (usually marked with a "-" sign).

2. Use a wrench to loosen the nut or bolt that secures the negative terminal. Be careful not to touch the positive terminal with any tools.

3. Once the negative terminal is disconnected, wait for a few minutes. This will allow the power to drain from the car's electrical system.

4. Reconnect the negative terminal. Tighten the nut or bolt securely.

5. Start the car and let it run for a few minutes. The check engine light should be off.

Method 2: Use an OBD2 Scanner.

1. Purchase an OBD2 scanner. These devices can be found at most auto parts stores.

2. Plug the OBD2 scanner into the diagnostic port of your Honda Accord. The port is usually located under the steering wheel.

3. Turn on the ignition and wait for the scanner to connect.

4. Select the "Read Codes" option on the scanner.

5. The scanner will display a list of any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that have been stored by your car's computer.

6. Once you have found the DTCs, you can clear them by selecting the "Clear Codes" option on the scanner.

7. The check engine light should turn off after you have cleared the DTCs.

Method 3: Have the Car Serviced.

If the check engine light comes back on after you have cleared the DTCs, you may need to have your car serviced by a qualified mechanic.
