How to bleed the front brakes on a 2003 Suzuki XL7

Tools and materials needed:

- Jack and jack stands

- Brake fluid (DOT 3)

- Brake fluid bleeder wrench

- Clear tubing

- Wrench

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Jack up the front of your vehicle and place it on jack stands.

3. Locate the brake fluid reservoir. It is usually located under the hood of your vehicle, near the master cylinder.

4. Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.

5. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid until it reaches the "MAX" line.

6. Locate the brake bleeder screws. They are located on the brake calipers, on the front wheels.

7. Attach the brake fluid bleeder wrench to one of the bleeder screws.

8. Place the end of the clear tubing over the bleeder screw.

9. Have a friend press down on the brake pedal while you open the bleeder screw.

10. Brake fluid will start to flow through the tubing.

11. Continue to pump the brake pedal and open the bleeder screw until the brake fluid that is coming out is clean and free of air bubbles.

12. Close the bleeder screw.

13. Repeat steps 7-12 for the other bleeder screw.

14. Once both bleeder screws have been bled, top off the brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid.

15. Replace the reservoir cap.

16. Lower your vehicle from the jack stands.

17. Test the brakes by applying the brake pedal. The pedal should feel firm and not spongy.
