1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.
- New torsion bars
- Pry bar
- Socket set
- Wrench
- Flat-head screwdriver
2. Open the trunk.
3. Locate the old torsion bars.
They are located on either side of the trunk opening, just below the lid.
4. Remove the old torsion bars.
- Use a pry bar to pry the old torsion bars out of their sockets.
- Be careful not to damage the sockets.
5. Clean the sockets.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to clean the sockets.
- Remove any dirt or debris.
6. Insert the new torsion bars.
- Insert the new torsion bars into the sockets.
- Make sure that they are seated properly.
7. Tighten the bolts.
- Use a wrench to tighten the bolts that hold the torsion bars in place.
8. Test the torsion bars.
- Open and close the trunk lid.
- The lid should stay up without any assistance.
9. Reinstall the trunk lid.
10. Enjoy your new torsion bars!
