How do you fix the driver side window of a 1999 vw passat?

To fix the driver side window of a 1999 VW Passat, you will need the following tools and materials:

• Flat head screwdriver

• Philips head screwdriver

• 10mm socket wrench

• 13mm socket wrench

• Extension for the socket wrench

• Replacement window regulator and motor

• Electrical tape

• Pliers

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical accidents.

2. Remove the interior door panel. To do this, use the flat head screwdriver to pry off the plastic covers over the screws holding the door panel in place. Then, use the Philips head screwdriver to remove the screws. Once all the screws are removed, carefully pry off the door panel, starting from the bottom and working your way up.

3. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the window switch and the door lock.

4. Remove the old window regulator by removing the 10mm bolts holding it in place.

5. Remove the window from the door by carefully lifting it up and out of the track.

6. Separate the window regulator from the window by removing the 13mm bolts holding them together.

7. Install the new window regulator and motor by inserting it into the door frame and securing it with the 10mm bolts.

8. Reinstall the window by carefully sliding it into the track.

9. Reattach the window regulator to the window using the 13mm bolts.

10. Reconnect the electrical connectors for the window switch and the door lock.

11. Reinstall the interior door panel by reversing the steps you took to remove it.

12. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

13. Test the window to make sure it is working properly.

Note: If the window is still not working properly, check the wiring and fuses to make sure they are in good condition.
