• The water pump is located on the front of the engine, just below the cylinder head. It is attached to the engine block by four bolts.
Replacement Procedure:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
3. Remove the serpentine belt. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the water pump.
4. Disconnect the heater hose from the water pump.
5. Remove the four bolts that attach the water pump to the engine block.
6. Remove the old water pump and gasket.
7. Check the water pump mounting surface for corrosion or damage. Clean the surface if necessary.
8. Install a new gasket and water pump. Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern to 18 ft-lbs.
9. Reconnect the heater hose and upper radiator hose to the water pump.
10. Refill the coolant and reconnect the negative battery cable.

- Use a new gasket when installing the new water pump.
- Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure on the gasket.
- Refill the coolant with a mixture of 50% water and 50% ethylene glycol coolant.
