1. Park the car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood of the car.
4. Locate the crank pulley. It is located on the front of the engine, below the serpentine belt.
5. Insert a breaker bar into one of the holes in the crank pulley.
6. Use a wrench to turn the breaker bar counterclockwise until the bolt breaks loose.
7. Remove the bolt from the crank pulley.
Here are some additional tips:
* If you cannot find a hole in the crank pulley to insert the breaker bar, you can use a pry bar to wedge between the crank pulley and the engine block.
* Be careful not to damage the threads of the bolt when you are loosening it.
* If the bolt is seized, you may need to use a penetrating oil to loosen it.
* You may also need to use a cheater bar to help break the bolt loose. A cheater bar is a long piece of pipe that you can attach to the breaker bar to give you more leverage.
* Be careful not to let the crank pulley move while you are removing the bolt. If it does move, you could damage the engine.
Once you have removed the bolt, you can remove the crank pulley from the engine.
