How do you replace rear torsion spring on brute push mower?

Replacing a torsion spring on a Brute push mower can be accomplished by following these steps:

Park the mower on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.

Locate the torsion spring. It is typically located on the rear axle, near the wheels.

Remove the rear wheels. This is usually done by removing a few bolts or screws that hold the wheels in place.

Remove the covers that surround the torsion spring. There may be one or two covers that need to be removed.

Locate the two bolts that hold the torsion spring in place.

Use a wrench to loosen the bolts.

Slowly release the tension on the torsion spring by turning the bolts counterclockwise.

Be careful not to let the spring snap back and hit you.

Once the tension is released, remove the bolts and the torsion spring.

Install the new torsion spring by reversing the above steps.

Make sure that the new spring is seated properly in the brackets before tightening the bolts.

Tighten the bolts securely, but do not overtighten them.

Replace the covers and the wheels.

Test the mower to make sure that the torsion spring is working properly.

Note: If you are uncomfortable performing this task, you can always take your mower to a qualified repair technician.
