- Park the vehicle on a level surface.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front wheel
Step 2: Remove the caliper bracket.
- Remove the two bolts holding the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle.
- Remove the caliper bracket and set it aside.
Step 3: Remove the rotor.
- Remove the two bolts holding the rotor to the hub.
- Remove the rotor and set it aside.
Step 4: Remove the hub assembly.
- Remove the four bolts holding the hub assembly to the steering knuckle.
- Pull the hub assembly off the steering knuckle.
- Use a seal puller to remove the axle seal from the hub assembly.
Step 5: Install the new axle seal.
- Apply a thin coat of RTV silicone sealant to the outer edge of the new axle seal.
- Press the new axle seal into the hub assembly.
Step 6: Reinstall the hub assembly.
- Slide the hub assembly onto the steering knuckle.
- Install the four bolts holding the hub assembly to the steering knuckle.
Step 7: Reinstall the rotor.
- Install the rotor onto the hub.
- Install the two bolts holding the rotor to the hub.
Step 8: Reinstall the caliper bracket.
- Install the caliper bracket onto the steering knuckle.
- Install the two bolts holding the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle.
Step 9: Reinstall the wheel.
- Reinstall the front wheel.
Step 10: Reconnect the battery.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
