How do you replace tensioner pulley on a 1999 2.2 liter cavalier?

Replacing the Tensioner Pulley on a 1999 2.2L Cavalier

Tools Needed:

-10mm wrench

-15mm wrench

-Breaker bar

-Socket wrench

-Pry bar

Procedure:

1. Locate the tensioner pulley on the front of the engine. It is near the top of the engine and is connected to the serpentine belt.

2. Loosen the 15mm bolt that holds the tensioner in place. Do not remove the bolt completely.

3. Use the pry bar to pry the tensioner away from the belt. Be careful not to drop the bolt.

4. Remove the serpentine belt from the tensioner pulley.

5. Remove the 15mm bolt and take out the tensioner pulley.

6. Install the new tensioner pulley.

7. Reinstall the serpentine belt.

8. Tighten the 15mm bolt.

Tips:

- Make sure that the new tensioner pulley is the same size as the old one.

- Be careful not to drop the bolt when removing the tensioner pulley.

- If the tensioner pulley is difficult to remove, use the breaker bar and the impact wrench to apply pressure directly on the tensioner.
