How do you remove factory stereo from 2007 Chevy Equinox?

To remove the factory stereo from a 2007 Chevy Equinox, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal using a wrench.

2. Locate the four 7mm bolts located on the radio fascia: two near the top of the bezel, and two near the bottom. Remove these four screws.

3. Next, remove the four screws securing the radio to the dash. These are located behind the radio fascia, two near the top and two near the bottom.

4. Remove the two screws on top of the cup holder.

5. Pull the top section of the console panel straight out.

6. Next, remove the four Phillips screws holding the cup holder and ashtray assembly to the console.

7. Remove the two 7mm screws at the back of the console panel assembly, next to the radio.

8. Next, remove the four 7mm screws holding the faceplate of the radio to the dash.

9. Gently pry the faceplate off the dash.

10. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the back of the radio and remove the radio from the dash.

11. Disconnect the antenna cable and the other wiring harnesses connected to the radio.

12. Remove the radio from the dash.
