- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Pliers
Instructions:
1.Park your Firebird on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
2.Locate the wiper motor cover on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Remove the cover by pressing down on the tabs and lifting it off.
3.Find the wiper arm nut located on the wiper motor shaft. Loosen the nut with a Phillips head screwdriver, but do not remove it completely.
4.Place the flathead screwdriver under the wiper arm near the base and pry it up gently until it pops off the motor shaft. Be careful not to damage the windshield or the wiper arm.
5.Once the wiper arm is removed, use the pliers to remove the nut from the motor shaft.
6.Repeat steps 2-5 for the driver's side wiper arm.
7.Reinstall the wiper arms in reverse order of removal. Make sure to tighten the nuts securely.
8. Replace the wiper motor cover.
This should provide you with the necessary instructions to remove the wiper arm on your 1997 Firebird. If you encounter any issues, I recommend checking with a mechanic for assistance.
