1. Place an oil pan under the oil filter to catch any dripping oil.
2. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter.
3. Remove the oil filter and let it drain.
4. Wash the oil filter area with a clean cloth.
5. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
6. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.
7. Fill the oil reservoir with the correct oil level and type.
8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
9. Check for any leaks.
