Tools and Materials Needed:
• Replacement neutral safety switch
• 10 mm socket wrench
• Flat-head screwdriver
• Pliers
Instructions:
1. Park your Volvo S70 on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
3. Locate the neutral safety switch. It is usually situated on the side of the transmission, near the gear selector.
4. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical accidents.
5. Use the 10 mm socket wrench to remove the two bolts holding the neutral safety switch in place.
6. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the switch up and disconnect any electrical connectors attached to it.
7. Inspect the electrical connectors for any damage or corrosion. Clean them if necessary.
8. Take the new neutral safety switch and connect the electrical connectors. Make sure they are firmly attached.
9. Reinstall the switch and secure it with the bolts you removed earlier.
10. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
11. Start the engine and check whether the neutral safety switch is functioning correctly.
