New windshield washer tank
1. Park your Volvo 940 on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Jack up the car and secure it on jack stands.
3. Locate the windshield washer tank. In the Volvo 940, the tank is located on the driver's side, behind the front wheel.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield washer pump.
5. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry open the tabs that hold the windshield washer tank in place.
6. Remove the old windshield washer tank.
7. Install the new windshield washer tank by aligning it with the mounting holes and pushing it into place.
8. Secure the tank with the tabs that you pried open in step 5.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the windshield washer pump.
10. Lower the car off of the jack stands and remove the tools.
11. Test the windshield washer system to make sure that it is working properly.
