Tools and Materials Needed

- New clutch kit

- Flywheel bolts

- Gasket remover

- Threadlocker (optional)

- Jack and jack stands

- Needle nose pliers

Instructions

1. Start by parking your car in a safe location and turning off the engine. Allow your car to cool down completely before beginning work.

6. Remove the starter motor.

7. Remove the bolts holding the transmission to the engine.

8. Support the transmission with a jack and remove the lower transmission bolts.

9. Separate the transmission from the engine by gently prying it apart with a pry bar. Be careful not to damage the transmission input shaft or the clutch cover.

10. Remove the old clutch disc from the flywheel.

11. Inspect the flywheel for damage. If the flywheel is scored or damaged, it will need to be replaced.

12. Install the new clutch disc on the flywheel. Make sure that the disc is seated properly and that the splines are aligned.

13. Apply a small amount of threadlocker to the flywheel bolts and install them. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

14. Reinstall the transmission.

15. Reinstall the starter motor.

16. Reinstall the transmission fluid drain bolt and transmission fluid.

17. Reinstall the undercarriage shield (if applicable).

18. Reinstall the front driver's side wheel.

19. Lower the car from the jack stands and remove the wheel chocks.

20. Start the engine and test the clutch. The clutch should engage smoothly and without any noise or vibration.

- When changing a clutch, it is important to replace the pilot bearing and throwout bearing.

- If you are having difficulty removing the transmission, you may need to use a transmission jack.
