How do you repair a rear disc brake that is sticking on 2000 Yamaha Blaster?

To repair the rear disc brake that is sticking on your 2000 Yamaha Blaster, follow these steps:

Tools and materials needed:

- 10mm wrench

- 12mm wrench

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Brake cleaner

- emery cloth

- Brake caliper grease

1. Park your Blaster on level ground and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down if it has been running.

2. Engage the parking brake. This is located on the left side of the handlebar.

3. Locate the rear disc brake caliper. It is attached to the rear axle and houses the brake pads.

4. Use the 12mm wrench to loosen the two bolts holding the brake caliper in place. Be careful not to completely remove the bolts.

5. Gently pry the brake caliper off the brake disc using a flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the brake pads or the disc.

6. Inspect the brake pads for wear or damage. If they are worn down or damaged, they will need to be replaced.

7. If the brake pads are in good condition, clean the brake caliper and the brake disc with brake cleaner.

8. Use the emery cloth to lightly sand the brake disc until it is clean and free of any rust or glaze.

9. Apply a small amount of brake caliper grease to the back of the brake pads and to the caliper slide pins.

10. Reinstall the brake caliper and tighten the bolts to 18 ft/lbs.

11. Disengage the parking brake and test the rear brake to make sure it is working properly.

If the brake is still sticking after following these steps, you may need to bleed the brake system. This involves removing any air bubbles from the brake lines, and it is best done by a qualified mechanic.
