1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the chain adjuster bolts on the left side of the motorcycle, near the rear wheel. There are two bolts, one on the top and one on the bottom.
4. Loosen the locknuts on the chain adjuster bolts.
5. Use a wrench to turn the chain adjuster bolts clockwise to tighten the chain. Tighten the bolts evenly until the chain has about 1/2 inch of slack between the front and rear sprockets.
6. Re-tighten the locknuts on the chain adjuster bolts.
7. Check the chain tension again to make sure it is correct.
