- Park the motorcycle on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Step 2: Remove the front wheel.
- Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel.
- Raise the front of the motorcycle with a jack or jack stands.
- Remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheel.
Step 3: Remove the fork tubes.
- Loosen the bolts at the top of the fork tubes.
- Slide the fork tubes down out of the triple tree.
Step 4: Remove the old fork seals.
- Use a seal removal tool to pry the old fork seals out of the fork tubes.
- Be careful not to damage the fork tubes.
Step 5: Install the new fork seals.
- Apply a thin coat of grease to the new fork seals.
- Slide the new fork seals into the fork tubes.
- Use a seal driver to seat the new fork seals.
Step 6: Reassemble the front forks.
- Slide the fork tubes back into the triple tree.
- Tighten the bolts at the top of the fork tubes.
- Reinstall the front wheel.
- Lower the motorcycle off the jack or jack stands.
- Connect the negative battery terminal.
Step 7: Test the front forks.
- Bounce the front end of the motorcycle up and down.
- Make sure that the front forks move smoothly and that there are no leaks.
*Note: It is recommended to replace the fork oil and dust seals at the same time as the fork seals.*
