1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical shocks while you are working.
2. Locate the ignition coil. The ignition coil is located on the right side of the engine, just below the fuel tank.
3. Remove the spark plug wire from the ignition coil. Pull the spark plug wire straight out of the coil.
4. Connect the tachometer wire to the ignition coil. There are two terminals on the ignition coil. The positive terminal is marked with a "+" sign, and the negative terminal is marked with a "-" sign. Connect the tachometer wire to the positive terminal.
5. Secure the tachometer wire. Use a zip tie to secure the tachometer wire to the ignition coil.
6. Mount the tachometer. Choose a location for the tachometer that is easy to see while you are riding. The tachometer should be mounted securely so that it will not vibrate or fall off.
7. Connect the tachometer to the battery. Connect the positive wire from the tachometer to the positive terminal of the battery. Connect the negative wire from the tachometer to the negative terminal of the battery.
8. Test the tachometer. Start the engine and check to make sure that the tachometer is working properly. The tachometer should display the engine's RPMs.
