1. Warm up your motorcycle. This is important to accurate adjustments!
2. Locate the idle speed adjusting screw. On the 1985 Honda Magna 700, it's located just below the right air box cover, underneath the fuel tank.
3. Turn the screw clockwise until the engine runs smoothly and without cutting out.
4. Turn the screw counterclockwise until the engine begins to run rough.
5. Set the screw halfway between these two points.
6. Test by opening and closing the throttle grip. The engine should maintain a smooth idle.
7. If necessary, adjust the screw again until you achieve the desired idle speed.
8. Double check and fine tune as necessary.
