1. Locate the speed sensor. The speed sensor is located on the left side of the transmission, just behind the front belt pulley.
2. Remove the bolt that holds the sensor in place.
3. Pull the sensor out of its housing.
4. Clean the sensor with a mild detergent and water. Be sure to dry the sensor thoroughly before reinstalling it.
5. Reinstall the sensor in its housing and tighten the bolt.
Here are some additional tips for cleaning the Harley Davidson speed sensor:
* Use a soft cloth to clean the sensor. Avoid using anything that could damage the sensor, such as a wire brush or steel wool.
* Be careful not to get water inside the sensor. If water does get inside the sensor, it could damage the sensor and cause it to malfunction.
* If the sensor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
