* A spark plug wrench
* A flat head screwdriver
* A feeler gauge
1. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2. Use the spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
3. Locate the points on the side of the engine. They are covered by a small metal cover.
4. Remove the cover by loosening the screws with the flat head screwdriver.
5. The points are two small metal contacts that are separated by a gap.
6. Use the feeler gauge to measure the gap between the points. The gap should be .016-.020 of an inch.
7. If the gap is too large or too small, use the flat head screwdriver to adjust the points until the correct gap is achieved.
8. Replace the cover and reinstall the spark plug and spark plug wire.
