1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.
You will need:
* A socket set
* A wrench set
* A screwdriver set
* A pair of pliers
* A hammer
* A punch
* Replacement shock absorbers
* Shock absorber fluid
* A funnel
* A clean rag
2. Remove the rear shock from the motorcycle.
* Loosen the top nut on the shock absorber.
* Loosen the bottom nut on the shock absorber.
* Pull the shock absorber out of the motorcycle.
3. Disassemble the shock absorber.
* Remove the top cap of the shock absorber.
* Remove the piston and rod assembly from the shock absorber.
* Remove the old shock absorber fluid from the shock absorber.
* Clean all of the parts of the shock absorber.
4. Reassemble the shock absorber.
* Install the new shock absorber fluid in the shock absorber.
* Insert the piston and rod assembly into the shock absorber.
* Install the top cap of the shock absorber.
5. Install the rear shock back on the motorcycle.
* Insert the shock absorber into the motorcycle.
* Tighten the bottom nut on the shock absorber.
* Tighten the top nut on the shock absorber.
6. Test the rear shock.
* Bounce up and down on the motorcycle to test the rear shock.
* The rear shock should be firm, but not too stiff.
If you are not comfortable rebuilding the rear shock yourself, you can take it to a professional motorcycle mechanic to have it done.
