How do you troubleshoot a 50cc moped that starts but can not accelerate?

Inspect the Fuel System

- Check the fuel line for any kinks or blockages

- Verify sufficient fuel is in the tank

- Clean and inspect the fuel filter

- Ensure no water is in the fuel tank or fuel lines

- Check the fuel cap to ensure it is venting properly

Verify the spark plug

- Remove the spark plug and inspect for damage or fouling.

- Make sure the spark plug gap is set within specifications.

- Ensure the spark plug wire is properly connected.

Inspect the Air Filter

- Check the air filter and ensure it's clean and free from debris or blockages.

Clean the carburetor

- Remove the carburetor, disassemble it and clean all components.

- Ensure no sediment or blockages are present in the jets or passages.

Check the throttle cable

- Ensure the throttle cable is properly adjusted and not binding.

- Verify the throttle cable moves smoothly when the throttle is twisted.

Check the exhaust system

- Make sure the exhaust pipe and muffler are free from restrictions or blockages.
