1. Gather your materials:
* New oil filter (Honda part number 15410-MCG-000)
* 3.7 quarts of Honda GN4 10W-40 engine oil
* Oil drain pan
* Funnel
* Wrench
* Rags
2. Prepare your motorcycle.
* Place the motorcycle on the center stand.
* Allow the engine to cool down completely.
* Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Locate the oil drain plug.
* The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the engine, near the front.
4. Drain the old oil.
* Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
* Loosen the oil drain plug with the wrench.
* Allow the oil to drain completely.
5. Replace the oil drain plug.
* Tighten the oil drain plug with the wrench.
6. Locate the oil filter.
* The oil filter is located on the left side of the engine, near the top.
7. Remove the oil filter.
* Use the wrench to loosen the oil filter.
* Be careful not to spill any oil.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
* This will help to create a seal and prevent leaks.
9. Screw on the new oil filter.
* Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug.
* Do not overtighten the oil filter.
10. Add new oil to the engine.
* Use the funnel to add 3.7 quarts of new engine oil to the engine.
* Check the oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "F" and "L" marks on the dipstick.
11. Replace the engine oil filler cap.
* Tighten the engine oil filler cap until it is snug.
12. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* This will circulate the new oil throughout the engine.
13. Check for leaks.
* Look under the motorcycle for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leaks stop.
14. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
* Tighten the negative battery terminal until it is snug.
