2. Locate the chain tensioner. It is usually located on the left side of the motorcycle, near the rear wheel.
3. Use a wrench to loosen the locknut on the chain tensioner.
4. Turn the chain tensioner screw clockwise to loosen the chain.
5. Retighten the locknut on the chain tensioner.
6. Check the chain tension. The chain should be loose enough to move up and down about 1/2 inch, but not so loose that it skips teeth on the sprockets.
7. If necessary, repeat steps 3-6 until the chain is properly tensioned.
