1.) Check the lawn mower engine's oil and fill it to the proper level if necessary.
2.) Clean or replace the lawn mower air filter if it is clogged.
3.) Clean or replace the lawn mower fuel filter if it is clogged.
4.) Ensure the fuel level of lawn mower, make sure it has enough fuel
5.) Check the lawn mower spark plug and replace it if it is worn or if there is a loose cable connection at the plug.
6.) Clean lawn mower carburetor , it removes dirt build up
7.) Inspect lawn mower's governor linkage - if it looks sloppy it could cause looping of engine
8.) Adjust the idle speed of the lawn mower to the specifications outlined in your machine's operator's manual. Do a throttle check, make sure to adjust cable if throttle is opening too far on its own. Throttle should have only 1/8 inch clearance.
