1. Lift up the rear cowl.
- Pull up on the rear edge of the cowl and lift it up. There are two tabs that hold the cowl in place.
2. Detach the side covers.
- Push the side covers towards the front of the motorcycle until you feel a pop and then lift the side covers off.
3. Locate the seat latch bolt.
- Once the side covers are removed, you will see the seat latch bolt located in the center of the bike frame.
4. Loosen the seat latch bolt.
- Use a 12mm wrench to loosen the seat latch bolt. Do not remove the bolt completely.
5. Lift up the front edge of the seat.
- Place one hand on either side of the seat's front edge. Pull the seat up and back off the bike.
6. Slide the seat off the bike.
- Slide the seat towards the rear of the bike and remove it from the motorcycle.
To reinstall the seat, simply follow the steps in reverse order.
* Make sure the seat latch is firmly seated when you reinstall the seat.
