1. Locate the diagnostic port under the dashboard, usually near the driver's side kick panel.
2. Connect a compatible OBD-II scanner to the port.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
4. Navigate through the scanner's menu until you find the option to clear or reset trouble codes.
5. Select the option to clear the codes and confirm the action.
6. Once the codes are cleared, turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and disconnect the scanner.
Note: If the check engine light comes back on after resetting it, there may be an underlying issue with the vehicle that needs to be addressed by a qualified mechanic or technician.
